Making Digital Literacy
Accessible to All
We believe that touch typing is a fundamental skill for the 21st century. Klavaro.org is a community-driven initiative dedicated to promoting the world’s best open-source typing tutor to Windows users worldwide.
Not a Game.
A Tool for Mastery.
Klavaro was originally created by the visionary developer Felipe Castro. Unlike commercial alternatives that try to gamify the learning process with falling balloons or racing cars, Klavaro was built on a different premise: Pedagogical Purity.
Written in efficient C and GTK+, the software is designed to be lightweight and distraction-free. The philosophy is simple: true muscle memory is built through rhythm and repetition, not entertainment.
While it started as a Linux-first project hosted on SourceForge, its efficiency made it a cult favorite among Windows users. However, navigating open-source repositories can be daunting for beginners. That’s why this site exists.
“The goal of Klavaro is to be free from bad habits. It corrects you immediately, forcing your brain to rewrite its connections.”
